Welcome to my website

Current appointment
I am an industrial postdoc with IMA (Institute for Mathematics and its Applications) at the University of Minnesota. From August 2013 to August 2014, I was located in Seattle to work in the materials research group at Boeing, my industrial partner. Currently I reside in Minnesota and work at the IMA.
My research interests lie at the intersection of physics, mathematics, and materials science. In particular, I specialize in problems related to coarse-graining, asymptotic methods, uncertainty quantification, PDEs, composite and polymers, and thin film systems.

Open source code

Generally it is my policy to post source-code after I have published the corresponding results in the scientific literature. Currently the site is under construction, so check back soon to see what I've posted.

IMA hot topics workshop on uncertainty quantification (UQ) in materials modeling

IMA, NIST, AFRL, and Purdue are sponsoring a workshop (for which I’m an organizer) on UQ in materials modeling. The workshop application is now live!

Extracurriculars and more

I am an avid rock climber and scuba diver. I'll post pictures soon!.

About me

I received a B.S. from St. John’s college in Annapolis, MD in 2006. I attended graduate school at University of Maryland, where I received a Masters in Applied Math in 2012 and a Ph.D. in physics in 2013. During that time, I worked at NIST Gaithersburg in the Center for Nanoscale Science and Technology (CNST).
