Engineering Wave Dispersion Through Localized Resonance Inside Sub-wavelength Structured Media

We discuss examples and different strategies for controlling wave dispersion across prescribed frequency ranges. Control is accomplished through design of sub-wavelength structures. We examine the design of metallic wave-guide structures at microwave frequencies and the design of plasmonic structures for optical frequencies.
