Motivated by applications in optimal control of multiphase fluids or droplets, or by spot markets with transport, the talk addresses modeling, analytic as well as algorithmic and numerical analytic aspects of recent challenges in optimal control of PDEs or variational inequalities. In particular, path-following semi smooth Newton methods in PDE constrained optimization, optimal control problems with variational inequality constraints, and generalized Nash games are addressed.
