Fitness Landscapes arise as a unifying concept in evolutionary biology, the statstics of disordered systems, and evolutionary computation. A variety of different approaches can be used to quantify global geometric features of landscapes, among the measures of correlation, the distribution of metastable states, and the collection of energy barriers.
