Managing crises --- such as terrorist attacks, hurricanes, and pandemics --- and other fast-moving situations, requires sense and respond platforms that can be configured to sense complex conditions in the extended environment and respond appropriately. This talk discusses distributed technologies and design methodologies for configuring sense and respond systems as a crisis unfolds.
