Window Flow Control for a Wireless Packet Data Network

In this talk, we develop a new window control algorithm suitable for a transport-layer protocol for a data stream that includes a final, lossy wireless channel. We use a simple queueing model with feedback, with a queue for the base station, which is served by a 2 state Markov wireless channel to the wireless client, and then fed back to the server. We derive the optimal window size, as a function of measurable packet statistics.
