GPS carrier phase measurements are corrupted by multipath signals that can significantly affect the quality of data used for static and kinematic positioning applications. In order to characterize carrier phase multipath, various relationships between parameters such as the multipath amplitude, phase and frequency with the satellite dynamics, antenna- reflector distance, antenna-reflector geometry, signal frequency are shown. Multipath spatial and temporal correlation are analyzed using simulated and field data. The mitigation of GPS carrier phase multipath through multiple antennas and receivers is also presented using simulated and field data.
