The Role of Explicit Space and Environmental Stochasticity in Competition Models
Tuesday, April 20, 1999 - 9:30am - 10:30am
Explicit space is often considered as an additional niche species can exploit when competing with each other. This suggests that coexistence should be facilitated in spatially explicit competition models. In this talk we will describe some of the effects of spatially local interactions on the outcome of competition in multispecies models. In addition we will discuss effects of spatial or temporal environmental variability on the outcome of competition.
