Chaos in Traveling Waves of Lattice Models of Unbounded Media

I illustrate some chaotic phenomena in lattice models of unbounded media which are associated with traveling waves running with large velocities. Although the dynamics on this set is finite dimensional it governs the behavior of typical solutions in the infinite-dimensional phase spaces of extended systems with dissipation and high energy pumping (of type of multi-component diffusion equations). I also discuss applications to the theory of dynamical systems and PDE.
