Singular Perturbations and Multiple Time Scales in Control System Modeling and Design

This talk will survey recently developed tools and procedures for systematic design of stabilizing feedback controllers for classes of nonlinear systems. Among the tools are inverse optimality and passivity, while the procedures include backstepping and forwarding. A typical engine design application will also be discussed.
