Computation of Periodic Solutions of Electrical Circuits in the Neighborhood of Hopf Bifurcation Points

A new method for the computation of periodic solutions of electrical circuits in the neighborhood of Hopf bifurcation points of the underlying dynamical system is proposed. The method is based on an asymptotic energy analysis of the dynamic behavior near the Hopf bifurcation point. The concept of utilizing a corresponding energy function is explained. Finally numerical results using an implementation of the method in the industrial electrical circuit simulator TITAN are given.
