  • For 2.2.0-pre : Some common 2.2.0 problem info.

      Make sure you have new patch to apply patch.
      Make sure you have new makedev to run X and xterm.
    

  • edited top level make file and uncommented SMP=1 line ( and SMP_PROF=1 line for 2.0.X )
  • run make with '-j 2' switches:

       make dep; make clean
       make -j 2
       make -j 2 zlilo
       make -j 2 modules
       make -j 2 modules_install
    

  • Tips for Debian-1.2 SMP:

       If you have a problem with serial port configuration,
          try to get newest version of `setserial'.
       If you use NIS,
          make sure that if you have right version of libc for the NIS binaries.
