Visitors to the IMA may obtain access to the University of Minnesota library system
A bar-coded University of Minnesota ID (U-card) or a temporary pass is required to check out materials from the University of Minnesota libraries. No keys are given out for the Math Library.
For a temporary pass, obtain a letter from the IMA visitor support staff and bring it to the Math Library, located in 310 Vincent Hall. Visitors at the IMA for more than three months will be issued a U-card.

IMA visitors may use the University of Minnesota Recreational Sports Facilities for a fee.
A letter for temporary use may be obtained from the IMA visitor support staff. Visitors at the IMA for more than three months may use their University ID (U-card) for access to recreational facilities.
Spouses of IMA visitors can also obtain passes to the Rec Sports Center.

• The IMA has a notary on staff. Write to staff to arrange a time or come to room 306 Lind Hall during business hours.

Cashing checks from University of Minnesota:

Third Party and/or Non University Check Cashing and/or Currency Exchange:

If you are an international visitor without a United States bank account and would like to cash a check from a third party and/or other institution you may cash these checks at the TravelEx, Lindbergh terminal, MSP Airport. At the TravelEX you may exchange currency, transfer money, and cash travelers checks. There is a fee for this service of $7.95 or 2% of the check, whichever is greater. The TravelEx is located at the Lindbergh Terminal, between Doors 5 and 6 in the Ticketing lobby. It is open from 6am until 9pm daily. The phone number is 612-713-7483.

The Security Monitor Program, a branch of the UMPD, offers free walking and biking security escorts to and from campus locations and nearby adjacent neighborhoods for all students, staff, faculty and visitors. To request an escort from a trained student security monitor, places call the above number from any campus phone, shortly before your desired departure time. The IMA uses Keller Hall (KHK) rooms 3-176 and 3-180 for most workshops and activities. Dependent on IMA needs, IMA visitors and University of Minnesota departments are welcome to reserve the rooms for academic use at no charge.

Room 3-180 seats 130 and room 3-176 is a small registration/reception room.

Dates are only available to reserve 2 months in advance. The IMA does not provide staffing or technical support for non-IMA events. While every effort is made to avoid it, your reservation may be bumped if the IMA is in need of the space.
