Technical capabilities of modeling systems are far ahead of the ability of individual managers and organizations to exploit them. Not to say that we don’t  need more basic and applied  research in optimization :
	-Mixed integer programming methods still need improvement
	-Better understanding of and tools for harmonizing rigorous methods with heuristics
	-New methods to rigorously combine mathematical programming models and methods with simulation
	-New methods to rigorously combine mathematical programming models and methods with classical inventory theory
	-Applied research leading to practical applications of stochastic programming
	While considering this issue as a topic for my presentation, made aware of following survey.
