DRAINING OF RE-ENTRANT FLUID LINES
Abstract

GIDEON WEISS

Recent results have shown a close connection between stability of stochastic networks and stability of their fluid models. A converse to the problem of stability is the question of optimal control of such networks. This motivates our search for optimal control of fluid models. In this paper we consider re-entrant lines in which parts move in a fixed route that may revisit machines several times. We pose several problems of optimal control for the fluid models of such lines.
