Former IMA postdoc Arthur Szlam was recently awarded a two-year Sloan Foundation Research Fellowship. The award seeks to “stimulate fundamental research by early-career scientists and scholars of outstanding promise.” The award is given to 20 mathematicians each year in recognition of "distinguished performance and a unique potential to make substantial contributions to their field."
Currently a faculty member at the City College of the City University of New York, Szlam focuses his research on the analysis of large data sets.
