Cheri Shakiban, a professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of St. Thomas, joined the IMA as associate director for diversity in September 2008. Research Web Page

In this role, Shakiban works with the director to provide leadership for efforts to expand the participation in IMA activities by members of underrepresented groups. Her professional research focuses on formal calculus of variations, differential algebra, computer algebra, fractal geometry, and computer vision.
