Fadil Santosa is a professor of mathematics at the University of Minnesota’s School of Mathematics. His research interests are in inverse problems, optics, photonics, and optimal design. Research Web Page
He began his involvement at the IMA in the fall of 1997 when he served as associate director for industrial programs under the leadership of Willard Miller. From August 2001 to June 2004, he served as deputy director under then director Douglas Arnold.
He was named director of the IMA in July 2008. Currently, as director, he is responsible for the scientific and administrative leadership of the institute and is involved in almost all aspects of the IMA operation, particularly program development, external and university relations, strategic and financial planning, funding and fundraising, and personnel management and coordination.
