Jiaping Wang, a mathematics professor at the University of Minnesota (UMN) School of Mathematics since 2005, recently joined the IMA as deputy director in August 2011. His research interests include differential geometry and partial differential equations. Research Web Page

The deputy director works closely with the director on many tasks and often leads programmatic development. He oversees most selection process for competitive appointments and is in charge of the postdoctoral program.
