David Hoff is the new chair at Indiana University, an IMA Participating Institution. Welcome! He replaces Daniel Maki, whom we thank for his service on the council.

Welcome, also, to Nigel Higson, the new chair at Pennsylvania State University, and thanks to Gary Mullen for his help to the IMA in that post.

The following individuals were elected to join the IMA Board of Governors, effective September 2004: Pamela Cook (University of Delaware), Katherine Ensor (Rice University), Robert Kohn (New York University) and Craig Poling (Lockheed Martin). Craig Poling will continue to serve on the IMA Industrial Advisory Board.

The following are the board members whose term is ending this year: Marsha Berger (Courant Institute), Jon Kettenring (Telcordia), Tom Kurtz (University of Wisconsin) and Bill Symes (Rice University). We thank them for their three years of service to the IMA.

Rice University has just joined as a Participating Institution affiliated to the IMA. Katherine Ensor (Department of Statistics, Rice University) and Bill Symes (Department of Computational and Applied Mathematics, Rice University) will be sharing responsibilities on the Participating Institution Council as our contacts.

ExxonMobil has joined as a Participating Corporation affiliated to the IMA. Rick Mifflin has joined the Industrial Advisory Board as our contact.

Jon Kettenring is retiring from his position on the Industrial Advisory Board and Tami Carpenter is joining, as our new contact at Telcordia. Thanks to Jon for his many years of service to the IMA, both on the Industrial Advisory Board and on the Board of Governors. Welcome to Tami.
