New affiliates and Board members

Michigan Technological University and Worcester Polytechnic Institute have joined the IMA as Participating Institutions. Mark S. Gockenbach is the IMA Participating Institutions Council (PIC) representative for Michigan State University and Bogdan Vernescu represents Worcester Polytechnic Institute on the PIC.

The following distinguished scientists were elected to join the IMA Board of Governors, effective January 2007:
    Anna Gilbert, University of Michigan
    David Sharp, Las Alamos National Lab
    Bernard Chazelle, Princeton,.

Craig Poling (Lockheed Martin) will serve as chair of the Board of Governors in the coming year 2007-2008.

This is the last year for Ruth Williams, Eitan Tadmor, and Mihalis Yannakakis to serve on the board. Robert Kohn also completes his term as chair of the Board. We thank all of them for their exceptional service to the IMA.
