Catherine Kealy (Beloit College), Wanyi Li (Macalester
College), and Charles Talbot (University of Connecticut),
participants in IMA's 2010 Interdisciplinary Research
Experience for Undergraduates, were chosen as Prize Winners in
the 2011
Mathematical Association of America (MAA)
Undergraduate Poster Session. There were more than 200 posters
submitted for the session and the IMA's team was among the 20
chosen for the prize. Their poster, entitled
"Elastohydrodynamic Instabilities in Gravity-Driven Flow,"
reports on the research they performed under the guidance of
Dan Flath
(Macalester) and Kara Maki (IMA). The posters were
judged on mathematical content as well as responses to
questions posed by the judges to the poster presenters.
