Mathematical Modeling in Industry -
A Workshop for Graduate Students
July 22 to July 31, 1998
Fadil Santosa and
Fernando Reitichl,
Organizers
Mathematical Modeling in Industry was a 10-day workshop designed
to provide graduate students and qualified advanced undergraduates
with first handexperience in industrial research.
Format
Students
worked in teams of up to 6 students under the guidance of a tutor
from industry. The tutor helped to guide the students in the modeling
process, analysis and computational work associated with a real-world
industrial problem. Each team made a public oral presentation
and submitted a written report at the end of the 10-day period.
