Citrix MetaFrame XP

We have a Citrix MetaFrame XP 1.X on the Window 2000 server. Unix users can run a windows application on this server and display back to their screen. First, each user needs a Windows account. Then, from his/her Linux Workstation, run a citrix client. Since we have a limited number of client license, we have three Citrix MF XP X-servers, sepia, mango and pear. To access the client, ssh to sepia, mango or pear and run a Citrix client manager, wfcmgr.

First, click Entry then property

• Network : Select blackbox.ima.umn.edu as server.
• Window : Choose color depth and window size.
• Login : UserName, Domain, and Password

There are more options that you can choose. Click option then Setting.

• HotKeys : Maps Window Special Function Keys
• Disk Cache : Disk Cache size, location, and bitmap cache size
• Drive Mapping : Maps local drives/directories as Windows drives and Set the permission.
• COM Ports : Maps local serial ports as Windows serial ports

Users can mount their home directory through Samba (see section 2.4). After the initial configuration, you can start the client with the command:
