Computational servers

For intensive computations, IMA has two major computational servers and also two secondary computational servers.

(1).

titanium : 4 AMD 2.4GHz Opteron 64-bit CPUs with 8GB of Memory.

(2).

carbon : 2 Xeon 3.2GHz EM64T CPUs with 8GB of Memory.

(3).

ebony : 2 AMD Athlon 1900+ MP CPUs with 3.5 GB of Memory.

(4).

alpha : 2 DEC Alpha 500 MHz 21264 CPUs with 3.5 GB of Memory.

Each server has enough local disk storage as scratch space, located at /scratch.

Using a cluster of IMA workstations as a distributed parallel computer is also possible with parallel programming systems such as MPI or PVM.
