Distributed workstations

The IMA maintains a wide variety of workstations distributed throughout Lind Hall and Lind Hall Skyway Offices. The computers are connected to farm of switched Fast Ethernet network; most of our computers now have full-duplex Fast Ethernet interfaces (100 Mbps each way). Traffic between Lind Hall and Skyway Offices is a full-duplex Gigabit Ethernet. And outbound to the Internet is carried on a full-duplex Fast Ethernet fiber optic line routed through the University network backbone. The majority of our computers are Unix workstations running a Linux distribution based on a version 2.x kernel, and are available for remote access using slogin or ssh (see section 3.2).

We have two 64-bits workstation for a piblic. teal is a Dual 2.4Ghz AMD Opteron linux workstation with 8GB of RAM. cerise is single AMD 64 3000+ linux workstation with 2GB of RAM.
