Positive Schemes for Solving Symmetric Hyperbolic Systems of Conservation Laws in Many Space Dimensions
A theorem of Friedrichs on the stability of difference schemes woth positive matrix coefficients is combined with a numerical switch to produce stable second order accurate schemes.
