Talk abstract:
Parallel and Distributed Evolutionary Algorithms
Kenneth De Jong, George Mason University
Although many of our evolutionary algorithms (EAs) are serial
algorithms with centralized control mechanisms, there is a growing
interest in parallel and decentralized EAs capable of exploiting
coarsely and finely grained parallel architectures. This presentation
will survey the basic parallel and distributed evolutionary
models which have been developed and discuss some of the interesting
open issues. Some specific details regarding recent progress
on finely grained EAs will be presented.
