Talk abstract:
Tomography through the Transport Equation
D.S. Anikonov, Acad. Sci. Vladivostok, Russia
The transport equation is considered as a mathematical model
of passage of the radiation through a medium. The report deals
with the inverse problems of the transport equation. These problems
consist in determination of the coefficients of the transport
equation or their partial characterization provided the intensity
of the radiation on the boundary of a given body is known.
Another derection of the investigation is the comparison of
various mathematical models used in tomography. For example
the models based on the transport equation and the diffusion
approximation are considered.
