The overall GPS error budget for absolute (Standalone)
positioning will be reviewed. Now that the effects of Selective
Availability have been removed, the characteristics of the remaining
errors can be more clearly seen. Particular emphasis will be
placed on the errors in the Broadcast Ephemeris. The error the
user sees from this source are not statistically nice. They
have several major components, and change discontinuously when
new data is broadcast. The generation procedure will be shown
as well as the resulting errors.
