Biological Background

I will give a 50 minute "crash course" on the immunology and virology of HIV-1 infection. This tutorial will be pitched for physical scientists and mathematicans who know little or nothing about HIV and the immune system. The tutorial will introduce the various cells, tissues, and organs involved in HIV-immune system interactions. Important concepts from immunology, such as specific immunity, antigen presentation, and clonal selection, will also be discussed.
