I have developed a spatially and genetically explicit, individual-based model of plant-herbivore dynamics to test the effect of evolution on population and community dynamics. The model allows me to turn evolution on and off and to vary the size of interaction neighborhoods for plants and herbivores independently. The results from this model suggest that population and community dynamics are highly sensitive to the interaction between the process of evolution and the size of plant and herbivore neighborhoods.
