First Abel Conference A Mathematical Celebration of John Tate
January 3-5, 2011


The Abel Conference is an annual conference series that honors the Abel Prize Laureates. It is a collaboration between the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters and the Institute for Mathematics and its Applications.

The IMA gratefully acknowledges the generous support of IBM Research and the University of Minnesota for the conference.

  Description

The Abel Conference is an annual conference series that focuses on the mathematics of the Abel Prize winners. The conference topics will be centered around the important mathematical areas impacted by the work of the Abel Prize recipient, and when appropriate, on the impact of the work on applications. The first conference will be in honor of John Tate, recipient of the 2010 Abel Prize.

The conference will start at 11am on Monday, January 3, 2011, and end at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 5, 2011.
