Description:

The main goal of this tutorial is to present an introduction and representative sample of scientific and engineering applications of algebraic-geometric methods, emphasizing the available opportunities and applicability of the techniques. Since the tutorial will take place the weekend immediately preceding the workshop on Algorithms in Algebraic Geometry workshop, it will provide a unique chance to connect the applications-oriented audience with the algorithms and software developers.

The tutorial will include a mixture of speakers from industry and academia. Among the areas we will cover are robotics, CAD/CAM, systems and control, computer vision, formal methods, chemistry, and computational geometry.
